Who am I

About me

My name is Onno Hart. I help organizations, teams, and professionals make important decisions about people, development, and direction. Whether it concerns a professional seeking to make better use of their strengths, or an organization looking to identify talent and leadership potential, the underlying question is always the same: where can someone contribute at their best, and how do we make that potential visible?

Experience in business and education

My background spans both the corporate world and higher education. After completing my Master's degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Amsterdam, I have been supporting individuals and teams in their professional development since 2003.

In the corporate sector, I have worked with professionals and management teams at organizations such as ING, Rabobank, EY, and KPMG, as well as a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses in industries including finance, transportation, and professional services. These experiences taught me the importance of looking beyond job titles and résumés to truly understand what people need in order to thrive.

In addition, I spent more than eighteen years in higher education as a lecturer, coach, and thesis supervisor in business, communication, and personal development programs. There, I saw firsthand how people struggle when their talents, personality, and interests are not aligned—and how powerful the results can be when they are

CareerCompass

CareerCompass brings these worlds together. Organizations make decisions about people every day. Who is ready for the next step? Who has leadership potential? Who is in the right role and who isn't? At the same time, there is often too little time to explore these questions thoroughly. As a result, strengths can remain underutilized, development opportunities may be overlooked, and valuable employees can leave before their full potential is ever recognized.

I support organizations and professionals in making complex decisions about people and direction. At the heart of my work lies a simple question: where do talent, personality, interests, and ambition come together most effectively?

The quality of an organization is ultimately determined by the extent to which people are in roles where their talents, personality, and ambitions can flourish. That is where my focus lies.

Approach

Every engagement starts with a thoughtful conversation to explore the situation at hand, whether it involves direction, selection, collaboration, leadership, or development.

From there, I develop an approach tailored to the organization, the team, and the individuals involved. Using validated instruments such as Hogan Assessments and CliftonStrengths, I translate insights into clear and practical advice, enabling confident decisions and meaningful next steps.
